Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Prof Huang Dejian on synthesis of flavonoid dimers and trimers and explore their activity as building block for metal-organo-framework (MOF) under a project on Flavonoid dimers and trimers: green syntheses and applications.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
1) Development of new synthetic methods that are green and simple for oxidative coupling of flavonoids
2) Investigate the oxidative coupling reaction mechanisms
3) Study the properties of the flavone dimers and trimers for their capability in coordination with metal ions and formation of MOF materials
4) Study the optoelectronic properties of the MOF with flavonoid dimers and trimers as building block.
5) Prepare manuscripts for publications
6) Prepare research proposals
7) Prepare patent applications.
8) Supervise MSc and undergraduate students
Qualifications
• Qualifications / Discipline: PhD/Chemistry
• Skills: organic synthesis/synthesis of transition metal complexes/column chromatography/characterization of structures of organic chemical compounds by NMR, IR, XRD, HRMS etc. Synthesis if MOF materials and characterization of their functionality
• Experience: 4 years of experience on advanced Research on synthetic organic chemistry
