- Work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and surgical nurses to prepare patients for surgery
- Record vital signs, instruct patients on the details of the procedures and administer intravenous therapy and medication
- Transfer patients to the operating room, and may be asked to clean wounds, sterilize equipment and make sure patients' rooms are ready for their arrival
- Communicate with loved ones and inform them of patients' condition
- Monitor patient’s vital signs, clean bandages and comfort patients when they wake up from anesthesia
- Administer tests, analyze lab results and report back to surgeons and doctors
- Track the progress of patients' conditions, and ensure patients receive adequate rest, food, fluids and nutrients
- Teach patients how to clean their bandages, take medication and care for themselves after they leave the hospital
- Assist with the cleaning of the operating room
- Open to learn and perform Endoscopy.
Requirements
- At least Diploma in Nursing
- Valid SNB certifications
- Candidate with operating theatre settings experiences will be an advantage and with experience as a recovery nurse
- Able to commit to work OT on some days as needed
