Sales Associate

Posco International Singapore Pte. Ltd.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled individual to join our Steel team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of import and export transactions, preparing international shipping documents, and supporting various Steel related functions within the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage Import and Export Transactions:

o Coordinate and oversee import and export activities related to steel products.

o Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and documentation requirements.

o Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth shipments.

2. Prepare International Shipping Documents:

o Generate and review shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.

o Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to facilitate timely customs clearance and bank negotiation.

o Coordinate with logistics teams to schedule shipments and track delivery statuses.

3. Support Accounting Functions:

o Assist in maintaining accurate financial records related to steel imports and exports.

o Prepare financial reports and summaries to support decision-making processes.

o Reconcile shipping and accounting records to ensure consistency and accuracy for month end closing.

4. Ensure Compliance and Risk Management:

o Stay updated on import/export regulations and compliance requirements.

o Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory issues or concerns.

5. Provide Customer Support:

o Communicate with customers regarding order status, shipment details, and documentation requirements.

o Address inquiries and resolve issues related to import/export transactions promptly and professionally.

o Foster positive relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and retention.

6. Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization:

o Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within import/export and accounting functions.

o Implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve operational effectiveness.

o Participate in cross-functional teams to drive organizational initiatives and achieve strategic objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Proven experience in import/export operations, preferably within the steel industry.

• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping documentation requirements.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.

• Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.

• Fluency in additional languages, especially relevant to international markets, is a plus.
