- Overseeing in the development and implementation of the Property & Casualty (which includes Engineering, Construction, Bonds) business strategies, initiatives and plans; responsible for both the Topline and Bottomline of the P&C segment. This also includes underwriting policy, overview of product developments, review of policy wordings and underwriting/Treaty guidelines of P&C and other lines and platform developments and management of these products and services across all distribution channels
- Liaise with Business Units on referral accounts and discussions of the referrals to MA/HO/Treaty/CEO for approvals
- Ensure that reasonable TAT is achieved for the account to be replied to the BUs
- Ensure that prudent technical underwriting is conducted as well as balancing the business aspects of securing the accounts
- Collaborate with BUs, other Segment Profit Centres, Reinsurance, Actuarial and Claims teams to manage loss ratios
- Negotiate, underwrite, accept all accounts within RAA/RAG
- Build technical competency in company, conduct underwriting audits
- Develop underwriters and risk surveyors to their best potential
- Market engagements with the industry
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory provisions and Group policies as are relevant to the role
- Optimise Underwriting productivity and efficiency through digitalisation
- Develop and implement Environmental Risk Management framework wrt underwriting
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned
Other Information
- At least 12 years of experience in a senior / head level developing and underwriting Commercial insurance business and products
- Knowledge in Commercial Insurance business and underwriting, pricing, audit, referrals, review of policy wordings and product enhancements
- Knowledge of distribution channels structure and good interpersonal liaison with them
