Job brief

We are looking for a competent Restaurant Server to take and deliver orders. You’ll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers’ experiences.

Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you.

Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.


Responsibilities

1. Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.

2. Attend to customers upon entrance and engage with customers in a friendly manner.

3. Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages.

4. Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.

5. Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products.

6. Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.

7. Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.

8. Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff

9. Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems, and deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude

10. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Collect payments from tables.

11. Help food preparation staff when necessary.


Requirements and skills

1. Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience.

2. Experience in providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

3. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.

4. A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with other staff.

5. Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.

6. Attention to cleanliness and safety.

7. Patience and customer-oriented approach.

8. Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.

9. Responsible and trustworthy.

10. Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system, with hands-on experience in cashier duties.

11. High school diploma.
