JOB SUMMARY
- Parentcraft Counsellor/ Lactation Consultant is responsible to plan, conduct and promote regular parentcraft education programmes for maternity patients.
- Promote and assist mothers to achieve successful breastfeeding.
- Assist in preparing teaching materials for parentcraft programmes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Teaches and assists mothers in parenting after delivery.
- Supervises and gives advice to breastfeeding mothers especially those with breastfeeding problems.
- Conducts parentcraft education to maternity patients.
- To keep abreast of current trends, research and teaching practices for parentcraft education.
- Updates breastfeeding skills and knowledge.
- Assists and advises mothers on breastfeeding techniques.
- Supports parents on their parenting preference.
