We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Product Management professional for Carbon Management Software to support our software product lifecycle management in the carbon and sustainability domain. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in product management as well as carbon domain expertise in carbon accounting standards, methodologies, net-zero management, and market application requirement.
The individual is responsible for offering carbon management subject matter expertise throughout product planning, design, and execution for carbon management products. You will play a crucial role in defining and shaping our carbon management product roadmap and introduction, ensuring product success, and driving market growth. As a Product Manager for Carbon Management Software, you will spearhead research, documentation, and alignment of Univers' product with current and future market needs as well as standards and regulations while ensuring product complies with audit and assurance requirements through proper software product structure, features, and compliance.
Relevant experience in technology product management and domain experience in sustainability and carbon management is required.
Director, Product Management (Carbon Management)
Responsibilities:
- Act as GHG emission accounting and climate actions subject matter expert on global GHG accounting standards, frameworks, and regulations
- Serve as go-to-person for all GHG accounting and Climate action rules, criteria, best practice, and compliance strategies
- Develop clear and concise business process documentation, such as product requirement documents and user stories, to communicate product requirements to software product architects and development teams
- Accountable for carbon management software scope and outcome to align with market best practice, trends, and the latest requirement
- Ensure the products are designed to comply with global and local accounting principles and guidelines
- Collaborate with BU leads and GTM teams to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
- Analyze and clarify user stories (business requirements) to establish a shared understanding of required behavior.
- Translate the current and emerging GHG accounting topics into product-oriented needs and features
- Defining user experience and user interface requirement to create easy-to-use intuitive and user-friendly products that cater to the target personas.
- Provide functional test and validation documentation to the QA team to ensure product aligns with requirements.
- Focus on standardization and common building blocks for a scalable and modular product to capture various calculation methods, accounting principles, emission factors, etc.
- Consult with external auditors and assurance firms for product certification, qualification, and approval.
- Define and track success metrics, adjusting approaches based on customer needs and business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Developer Engineers, Marketing, and Management, to deliver new product ideas and improve existing ones.
- Establish a shared vision across the organization by building consensus on product and functionality priorities.
- Develop top-tier product communication and training materials for internal and external use
- Maintain professionalism while respecting team members and colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters/Bachelor Degree in Technology/Environment
- At least 10 years+ of relevant experience in Product Lifecycle Management, with 2 years+ of experience in Carbon Management domain
- Knowledge of global sustainability and carbon management frameworks and standards, such as GHGP, SBTi, ISSB, ESRS, TCFD, SASB, GRESB, etc.
- Understanding of assurance and certification requirement
- Familiarity with data quality and scoring methodologies
- Skills in product lifecycle management and program execution
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to explain complex technical topics in an easily digestible manner
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex scenarios and develop practical solutions to simplify implementation.
