Deputy General Manager (Construction) Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Manager (Construction) to lead and oversee all aspects of our construction operations in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve project goals and company objectives.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and legal requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, engineers, and construction staff.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project status, financials, and other key metrics to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all project teams and departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Singapore construction industry and regulatory environment is preferred.
