(A) Job Summary:
The Utility Engineer is responsible for managing facility / utilities improvement of projects, equipment modifications & upgrades, troubleshooting as well as application related work.
(B) Essential Job Functions:
The Utility Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Involve in site utilities diversion work.
- Plan, schedule and manage of all aspect of utilities coordination related works.
- Coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders, including but not limited to design consultants/engineers, other departments, project representatives from clients, statutory / authority agencies, etc., to set the requirements for work deliverables and engineering works that must be submitted.
- Manage and monitor progress, quality of workmanship and ensure that it complies with authority requirements.
- Highlight any discrepancies and advise the staff on the interfacing of utility services and related works.
- Coordination with other disciplines to guarantee that designs meet other infrastructure requirements.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
- Utilizes project management skills and concepts to execute technical projects with an interdisciplinary project team, from planning stage to realization and start-up.
- Provides technical expertise in the daily operations of the unit.
(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the relevant field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the coordination with utility agencies for projects of similar scale, complexity and nature of work.
- LTA Project Experience is preferred.
(D) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with industry partners and government authorities.
- Good knowledge and understanding of local regulations pertaining to workplace health, safety, environmental issues in the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of documentation procedures.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects at one time.
- Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly.
- Positive attitude and good discipline and good team player.
