Financial director

Job Description:

The Finance Director will be responsible for the financial health of the organization. This role involves managing the financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The Finance Director will work closely with executive management to develop financial plans and strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability. Key responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy and Planning:Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational objectives.
   Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting efforts.
   Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
   
2. Financial Operations:Oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
   Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
   Manage the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and reporting.
   Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
   
3. Financial Reporting:Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis.
   Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements and regulations.
   Present financial results and insights to the executive team and board of directors.
   
4. Risk Management:Identify and manage financial risks to the organization.
   Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
   Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
   
5. Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
   Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
   Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of finance staff.
   
6. Stakeholder Management:Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
   Collaborate with other departments to support overall organizational goals and objectives.
   

Requirements:

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly desirable.
  
• Experience:Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
  At least 5 years in a senior leadership position, preferably as a Finance Director or similar role.
  Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  
• Skills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  Strong leadership and team management skills.

Work Environment:

• This role is typically based in an office environment with occasional travel required.
