We are looking for a motivated lawyer who will assume the role of Legal Counsel, APAC, to support the business of the WS Audiology group in the areas of legal and compliance. You will be part of a highly driven and motivated multi-cultural international team of lawyers. You will work closely with all functions and business leads and their teams to provide practical and commercially-focused legal advice to support the growth and expansion of the business in APAC region. In addition to legal topics and advice, you will support to implement global compliance policies, processes and trainings for APAC region.
What you will do
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts with customers/vendors and any other third parties
- Provide timely, concise and business oriented solutions to business partners in the APAC region (with a specific focus on being a business partner for our operations into China) on general corporate and commercial law, employment law issues and any other legal issues and risks arising out of day-to-day operations
- Ensure all contractual matters are handled in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner and to ensure that internal approval processes and procedures are applied consistently
- Effective instruction of external counsel and management of external counsel costs
- Support on rolling out and conducting compliance trainings for employees on such legal and/or compliance topics as may be assigned and support on compliance investigations as may be assigned from time to tim
- Implement global initiatives, projects and reporting obligations as may be cascaded from Chief Legal Officer.
What you bring
Experience
- Recognized degree in Law
- At least 5 years of experience working at reputable law firm or in-house experience
- Admitted to practice law in any country in APAC preferred.

- Self-motivated and proactive individual who can work independently
- Robust personality with high levels of energy and drive, with an ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic corporate environment
- Forward thinking team player with a flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to read and write in Mandarin is essential. Prior experience of advising China business partners/clients will be an advantage.
