Job Scope:
As a Senior Trade Manager, the individual will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing operations within the dedicated trade lanes. The role will spearhead initiatives to enhance route profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across these key markets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the trade strategies of the respective assigned trade lane to ensure trade profits and efficiencies are at its optimal.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges affecting trade dynamics.
- Lead and develop the trade management team.
- Lead negotiations with customers, vendors, and partners to secure favorable terms and agreements that support business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution of shipping schedules, optimize vessel utilization, and manage logistics costs effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
- Monitor financial performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
The Successful Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or any related discipline is a plus.
- Proven experience in long haul trade is a plus.
- More than 6 years of experience in trade management is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
