We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Assistant. The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting our finance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all transactions in the accounting software.
2. Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Maintain vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
3. Generate customer invoices, track outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues as needed.
4. Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data and identify any discrepancies.
5. Assist with payroll processing, including calculating employee wages, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
6. Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and other financial documents as required by management.
Technical Skills & competencies:
1. Accurate and efficient data entry skills are necessary for recording transactions in the accounting software.
2. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP, is necessary for processing invoices, managing vendor accounts, and generating payment reports.
3. Proficiency in data entry is necessary for accurately recording invoice details, tracking outstanding balances, and updating customer accounts in the accounting system.
4. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies is crucial for bank reconciliation.
5. Proficiency in payroll software is essential for processing payroll efficiently.
6. Proficiency in mathematics and numerical analysis is crucial for accurately calculating financial ratios, performing financial analysis, and interpreting numerical data in financial statements and reports.
