Technical Responsibilities
- Installation and Setup
- Installation and basic configuration of Servers, Network switches, Routers and security appliances like Firewalls at client sites.
- Provide assistance on all physical activities during Staging, migration and UAT.
- Patch Management: Assist with the deployment of software updates and patches.
- Take remote assistance from Senior engineers and TAC when needed.
- Basic knowledge of Routing, switching, wireless and firewalls.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide support for network connectivity issues, including LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and VPNs.
- Connectivity Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic systems and network issues, escalating to level 2 support if necessary.
- Create TAC case with vendors when needed.
- Network Management
- Assist in setting up and configuring network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
- System Upgrades and Repairs
- Carry out hardware upgrades, repairs, and replacements as needed.
- Update software Applications, Firmware and operating systems to the latest versions.
Project Management
- Project Execution
- Participate in IT projects including new installations, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Join Project calls and understand the project scope and timelines.
- Assist Project team on the onsite related activities.
- Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of IT equipment and services.
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance and upgrades to minimize downtime.
Client and Team Interaction
- Client Support
- Provide on-site technical support and assistance to clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
- Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and repairs.
- Document and report any recurring issues and propose solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to ensure coordinated and efficient service delivery.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Certifications from the vendors below will be an added advantage.
