What you'll do:
As a Web Developer (Contract), you will play a crucial role in developing secure and efficient web applications for our cyber exercise platform. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including designers, security professionals, and product managers. Your responsibilities will include composing clean, well-documented code using modern website creation frameworks, implementing cybersecurity best practices throughout the development lifecycle, conducting unit and integration testing, troubleshooting complex issues, staying informed about the latest technologies and trends in website creation, and mentoring junior developers.
- Cooperate with designers, security professionals, and product managers to translate requirements into secure and efficient web applications.
- Develop and maintain various aspects of our cyber exercise platform utilising agile methodology.
- Compose clean, well-documented, and maintainable code using modern website creation frameworks.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure code quality and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex web application issues.
- Stay informed about the latest website creation technologies and trends.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Web Developer (Contract)role will bring a wealth of experience in web application development. You should hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and have at least two years of experience as a Web Developer. Your portfolio should showcase your skills in web application development. You should possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, and proficiency in web-based software and tools. Experience with server-side scripting languages, database design and implementation, web server technologies, and developing secure APIs is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Web Developerwith a strong portfolio showcasing web application development
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in web-based software and tools (including frameworks like React, Angular or Vue.js)
- Experience with server-side scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, NodeJS)
- Experience with database design and implementation (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with web server technologies (e.g., NGINX)
- Experience with developing secure APIs (RESTful preferred)
