Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Director, you shall manage the entire effort for construction execution of the FPSO from selection of donor vessel to commissioning and acceptance by the Client. Your responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following job scope:

  • Support Project Director by providing required inputs and experience to set the project execution priorities and identify the resources required, deployment schedule and qualification thereof;
  • Support Project Director in developing the control budget, identification of risks in execution and meeting the budget, procedures for mitigation of risks and controlling the budget;
  • Ensure that project execution is fully compliant to corporate quality and HSE standards including those required by regulatory authorities and report where required.
  • Ensure that subcontractors and supplies completely follow these requirements and take corrective actions in case any deviation is observed;
  • Provide required reports in true and transparent manner to Project Director and Management on status of the project execution, any deviations and corrective actions taken/ required;
  • Seek support and guidance of the Project Director/ Management where necessary to mitigate any problem area which is causing delay or quality issue or safety issue in execution of the project;
  • Undertake thorough review of CONTRACT requirement along with his team members, responds to queries and comments and ensures that all specified requirements of HBA obligations including the Safety and Quality requirements are fully understood and satisfactorily completed;
  • Establishing delivery execution plan in accordance with Project execution strategy set by Project Director/ HBA Management and ensuring that the project schedule is met;
  • Planning, organizing and directing the activities of all the Disciplines in his team, contractors and subcontractors working for delivery of the FPSO;
  • Ensuring that design of products with performance including workmanship and productivity meets the HSE and Quality requirements;
  • Providing leadership and guidance on complex/ technical problems;
  • Developing and approving necessary project procedures, support documentation, as appropriate;
  • Recommending staff recruitment for the project;
  • Interfacing with HBA Site Representative on project related matters;
  • Acting as Auditee in HSE and Quality audits;
  • Monitoring and assessing the performance of Subcontractors;
  • Provide overall assistance in all key areas of work of EPCC;
  • Inputting in development of Project schedule and monitoring the progress according to schedule and sub-schedules. Monitor a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule for the project to identify the resources and time required to complete the project; perform sensitivity analysis on the CPM schedule to determine potential areas of slippage and corrective active to be taken; and keep Management informed of the progress of the Work;
  • Ensuring that the subcontracts are tendered and administered in accordance with the project procedures;
  • Ensuring quotation are sought and purchase orders are placed in accordance with the CONTRACT requirements and master schedule;
  • Monitoring progress against the master schedule, advising the Project Director of areas of concern and suggesting solutions;
  • Coordinating the preparation of weekly and monthly project reports to HBA and CONTRACTOR Management;
  • Project document control;
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with both internal and external clients;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational requirements of a Bachelors’ and/or Masters’ degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent disciplines.
  • Direct experience working on FPSO projects.
  • Minimum 15-18 years’ experience, with Oil & Gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs), with significant experience working as an engineering manager.
  • Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector, in a similar role and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.
  • Should have good interpersonal communication skills, structured but not rigid, should be able to take decisions and responsibility, pro-active and should possess good report writing skills.
  • Good leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
