Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist the Operator/Marine Superintendent in maintaining and updating the HSSEQ system.
- Vessel Vetting inspections from request to approval, including communication with relevant parties.
- Attend and document Marine Department meetings.
- Maintain OCIMF VPQs and update relevant internal and external databases (SIRE, Q88, SIS3, CDI).
- Ensure timely updates from the fleet to the department.
- Distribute incoming ship mail within the office.
- Record fleet acknowledgements.
- Assist in producing marine department statistics and filing reports and documentation.
- Prepare documentation as needed.
- Update Fleet Notices and Circulars in DANAOS monthly.
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
- Guide vessel masters on compliance with voyage instructions and charter parties.
- Plan loading/unloading and transshipment of stores and spares with relevant parties.
- Track vessel fuel consumption against budget.
- Monitor vessel movements and performance.
- Handle disputes on cargo damage, shortages, and underperformance based on charter parties.
- File shipping documents and enter voyage data.
- Compile insurance claim documentation.
- Coordinate with Master/Charterers on unplanned stoppages and repairs.
- Assist with operational issues and post-fixture activities under guidance.
- Monitor bunker requirements and notify charterers if needed.
- Appoint agencies on behalf of owners.
- Ensure vessel compliance with charter party speed and consumption requirements.
- Collect feedback from customers.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in a related field.
- Minimum 3 years in marine industries, self-motivated.
- Initiative, multi-tasking, tech-savvy, and ERP adaptability.
