My client is a Temasek-backed financial institution specialized in providing project financing to infrastructure and maritime sectors. They are a leading credit financing platform for real assets globally across the debt capital structure.
Position Overview
They are seeking an experienced finance and accounting professional to join their Finance team as Controller on a 6-months maternity cover contract basis. Reporting into a Finance Director, the role will be responsible for all finance and tax matters within the group. These relate to traditional financial control activities such as handling the legal entity close, tax submissions, legal entity reports, group to board & shareholders, bank reconciliation, closure of books, some AP/AR, tax return, GST returns.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain full set of accounts ensuring completeness and accuracy of records for stand-alone entities and Group consolidated results.
- Perform day-to-day finance operations, which include recording financial transactions in the ledger, account reconciliations and payment processing.
- Timely preparation and delivery of all financial and management reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to Senior Management, Shareholders and Regulators.
- Ensure timely completion of annual audit, tax submissions and other regulatory reporting.
- Provide accurate and timely finance support to the third-party business venture, which includes maintaining full set of accounts and all financial and management reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting to Senior Management, Shareholders and Regulators
Knowledge/ Experience Required:
- Degree in Accountancy, Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in financial or management reporting with good track record of strong delivery.
- Good working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), accounting principles and tax rules.
- Good understanding of service company operations, transfer pricing and cost allocation processes.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across functions
