Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the target markets
  • Gather and synthesize relevant information on trade regulations, tariffs, market dynamics, and competitor activities
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to model different trade scenarios and forecast potential outcomes
  • Track and analyze closely the profit and loss (P&L) trends and proactively identify any deviations or anomalies in the P&L performance compared to targets and forecasts
  • Investigate the root causes of performance issues, such as changes in market conditions, operational inefficiencies, or cost fluctuations
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and optimization strategies to address the identified problems
  • Track the vessels schedule continuously and identify potential delays or disruptions in the schedule
  • Implement counter measures and contingency plans by collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate the effects of vessel delays
  • Develop clear and coherent narratives to accompany numerical data and financial information
  • Ensure a strong alignment between the qualitative explanations and the quantitative metrics presented
  • Analyze data and financial reports to identify key trends, insights, and implications
  • Update company’s website, including publishing new content, maintaining existing pages and ensuring information is current
  • Craft and distribute customer advisories, alerts, and other important communications to keep customers informed of relevant developments, changes, or critical information
  • Develop and publish press releases and other media-facing content to share news, announcements, and updates with the broader industry and public

Requirements

  • Degree in relevant field
  • 8 -10 years’ experience in liner shipping, familiar with intermodal operation, inland facilities and vendor management
  • Excellent research and information synthesis capabilities, with strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of international trade regulations, tariffs, and market dynamics
  • Ability to think critically, identify risks and opportunities, and propose innovative solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive mindset to identify opportunities for process optimization and technological advancements in trade management
  • Ability to analyze trade performance data and implement data-driven improvements
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and accountable work environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (such as Excel and Powerpoint) is a must
  • Experience in container line sales and front office experience will be advantageous
