Position Summary: The Assistant Accounts Manager will oversee the financial activities and reporting of subsidiaries and representative office in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region (Indonesia and Malaysia). This role ensures that all financial operations are in compliance with local regulations and corporate policies. The Assistant Accounts Manager will work closely with subsidiary’s external Accountant, Auditor and Tax Agent, providing support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of APAC subsidiaries and representative office, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Supervise and provide guidance to subsidiary’s finance teams in Singapore on accounting practices, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for subsidiaries on financial matters, offering guidance and resolving issues.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures, and local regulations in all financial activities.
- Coordinate with subsidiary’s external Accountant, Auditor and Tax Agent to ensure timely and accurate monthly /bi-monthly / quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage the preparation, audit and filing of APAC subsidiaries’ financial statements.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the APAC month-end close, including review of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and analysis of monthly / bi-monthly / quarterly financial results.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with the in-country Project and Admin Team
- Handle inter-company billings and transactions
- Handle full sets of accounts for local related party companies – an Investment Holding Company and a company providing Corporate ICT Solutions
- Manage Staff and Petty Cash Claims and Vendor Payment for Singapore HQ
- Other accounting duties or assignments
- Other ad-hoc duties or assignments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy/ACCA/CPA/CA or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience with managing subsidiary accounts is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, Microsoft Dynamic Business Central) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more APAC regional languages is a plus.
- Ability to think critically and analyze data effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- This position may require occasional travel within the APAC region.
