About the Role
This is an in-house position. To provide essential legal advice and support to business units across Singapore, Thailand, and Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on agreements, forms, tenders, and other legal documents to inform units of risks and obligations, achieve business goals, and reduce legal risks.
- Draft, review, and provide expert advice on responses to customer complaints, which may involve collaborating with external parties such as lawyers and regulatory agencies.
- Manage disputes and legal actions, including negotiations and preparation of court documents. Coordinate with external law firms when necessary.
- Support new business proposals and ongoing operations by ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing legal memos, and addressing inquiries from regulators.
- Conduct compliance activities such as questionnaires, responses to auditors, and drafting guidelines. Handle related projects and provide updates on ongoing legal matters.
Requirements:
- LLB/JD degree from a recognized university with admission as Advocate and Solicitor to the Singapore Bar.
- 4-7 years of post-qualification experience as an advocate and solicitor or legal counsel, preferably with in-house experience.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore law in commercial contexts and demonstrated ability to draft, review, and advise on commercial agreements.
- Experience in managing disputes, including negotiations and court proceedings.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
