Job Summary:
The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing strategic legal guidance and support to the company, with a
focus on complex, high-impact matters. This senior-level role partners closely with business leaders to identify and
mitigate legal risks, ensure compliance, and enable the achievement of the company's objectives. The Senior Legal
Counsel serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, contributing to the development and implementation
of legal policies and best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic business partner, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business
needs, anticipate legal issues, and provide proactive counsel
Lead the review, negotiation, and drafting of a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and
corporate documents to protect the company's interests
Ensure the company's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not
limited to corporate governance, intellectual property, data privacy, and labor laws
Provide expert legal analysis and advice on complex matters, such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures,
joint ventures, and strategic alliances
Oversee the management of litigation, disputes, and regulatory compliance matters, working closely with
external counsel as needed
Spearhead the creation and implementation of legal policies, guidelines, and training programs to promote
consistency and mitigate risk across the business
Stay abreast of emerging legal trends and industry developments, and proactively identify opportunities to
add value to the business
Manage the company's relationship with external legal counsel, including the selection, oversight, and
performance evaluation of law firms and attorneys
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s)
10+ years of progressive legal experience, with a strong background in corporate, commercial, and/or
compliance law
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal counsel and effectively navigate complex, high-stakes
business situations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts
into business-friendly terms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solutions-oriented mindset
Proven track record of collaborating across functions and building trusted relationships with business
partners
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple
tasks simultaneously
