Responsibilities
· In consultation with International Business Planning Tokyo and Chairman, Asia Pacific to plan for, and promote business in Singapore, and the rest of Asia (‘The Area”).
· Assist the President / CEO in the day to day running of the various business lines and provides advice on business plans to internal business departments.
· Inform Senior Management of potential and ongoing projects including both the business development in the Area and performance of funds Head Office and company have invested in.
· Back Office Japanese Liaison Manager for the Daiwa group of companies in Singapore in charge of:
(a) Liaison with Japanese counterparts (clients, related companies, HQ etc) on accounts and settlements issues.
(b) Render assistance in dealing with questions, requests from and / or replies to Japanese speaking counterparties.
· Member of the Executive Management Committee in making strategic decisions across the various business areas in Singapore including Global Markets, Investment Banking & Private Banking
· Coordinate with the back office and front office to meet HQ reporting requirements eg financial reporting requirements, submission of the annual budget etc
· Ensures that “Chinese walls“ are in place and confidential information collated for planning and business promotion is disseminated strictly to persons on a 'need-to- know ' basis.
· Responsible for expatriates human resource and administration matters.
Requirements
· Bachelor degree in Banking & Finance, Commerce, Economics or equivalent
· At least 10 years of experience in strategic / business planning and corporate communications
· Good understanding of capital markets products and/or origination and execution of transactions across the Capital Markets spectrum will be an added advantage.
· Must be conversant with both written and spoken Japanese to manage & build relationship with various stakeholders including Head Office personnel
