Our client is in a growth phase and are expanding their teams in Singapore. As there is an increased demand for database related technologies, they are on the lookout for Data Operations Engineers to drive and manage their current database setup.
Responsibilities:
- Be part of a team to deploy, manage and provide support for databases and data lake platforms
- Develop and implement strategies for high availability, backup and recovery and disaster planning
- Identify and resolve database issues and performance bottlenecks
- Implement database security policies, procedures and best practices in compliance to industry security standards
- Develop or implement ways to enhance client’s data warehouses, data lakes or equivalent platforms
- Creation and upkeep of documentations e.g. design documents, troubleshooting guides etc
Requirements:
- Knowledge and/or experience in Database Administration
- Knowledge and/or experience with Linux operating system and scripting
- Knowledge and/or experience in at least one or more of the following:
- Hadoop Distributions (eg. Cloudera, Hortonworks, etc)
- Relational Databases (eg. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL Databases (eg. MongoDB, Neo4J, CosmosDB, etc)
- Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:
- Data Virtualization tools (eg. Denodo, etc)
- Scripting languages (eg. PL/SQL, Python, T-SQL, etc)
- Cloud platforms (eg. AWS, Azure)
- Docker/Kubernetes environments
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Able to work independently and as a team
