Ship Building & Repairing General Foreman

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily work site operations and ensure efficient management.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with shipyard regulations and safety standards.
  • Co-ordinate with various departments to optimize resource allocation.
  • Plan and co-ordinate allocation of manpower resources.
  • Manage budgets and control operational costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor and analyse operational performance metrics.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
  • Co-ordinate timely completion of work scope in co-ordination with clients’ timeline.
  • Handle emergency situations and coordinate response efforts.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
  • Ensure effective communication within the operations team.
  • Oversee the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience working in marine, oil & gas industries construction projects.
  • Skilled in all aspects of surface preparation of steel structures and application of various coatings and products for Onshore and Offshore, Marine and Oil & Gas Industries.
  • Ability to work independently, mobilise equipment, supervise teams of workers and provide on the job training.
  • Liaise with client representatives, independent inspectors & product inspection personnel.
  • Highly skilled in the application of coating with good knowledge of operation, maintenance and repairs of various equipment.
  • Well versed in Quality control procedures for application of various types of coatings.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Experience in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to foster relationships with stakeholders and clients.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours & on shift.
  • Must be willing to travel to regional work sites for trouble shooting and provide training for group companies’ personnel
