Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to be responsible for the support and administration of all SAP activities and implementations. This includes business and functional reviews, planning, coordination, and implementation of all changes in SAP including performance and tuning analysis, capacity planning, coordination, and implementation of all changes in SAP, including systems support and planning application support, ad software upgrades.
The Lead Engineer (SAP) will review, approve and execute change requests to ensure successful change management. The candidate will troubleshoot systems related incidents to provide the maximum availability and optimal mean time to repair / resolution. The candidate will also ensure all documentation necessary to understand and support the users within nets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely response, escalation, and resolution to promote the rapid restoration of services for all incidents.
- Through review and approval, ensure methodical and successful execution of customer change requests.
- Maintain SAP systems stability through advanced troubleshooting, timely resolution of customer incidents, a proactive maintenance.
- Participate in business requirements and projects milestones support initiative while providing the needed subject matter expert input to align and execute scope in timely and accurate manner.
- Be responsible for technical delivery in the areas SAP Basis, Fiori and database (DB2, Hana, Sybase MSSQL).
- Be responsible for maintaining multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
- Be responsible for monitoring all SAP systems ( work process, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space and user access matrix).
- Be responsible for the administration of the SAP databases.
- Be responsible for leading the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades,
- Be responsible for developing and maintaining system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces (includes Technical Design and Application Information Documents).
- Knowledge of complex computer database systems development and implementation.
- Knowledge of SAP related applications and analysis of data processing programs and equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and evaluate system failures and determine the effectiveness of SAP & database systems.
- Execute daily operational activities related to SAP environment including object transport, setup/configuration, operational SAP monitoring, troubleshooting and error handling, performance/ tuning and problem determination/resolutions.
- Provide technical expertise in the domain of SAP basis Services in the area of operation and management.
- Coordinate and execute upon approval adjustments and changes that increase performance and availability.
- Assess technical risk and provide timely mitigation and remediation plans.
- Participate in cross functional project reviews and identify high risk areas pertaining to SAP landscape
- Experience with configuration and use of SAP specific scheduling, management and monitoring tools.
- Participate in Disaster recovery exercise for the in-scope SAP landscape.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in related fields
- 5-7 years of Basis or Hana experience at enterprise level.
- 3+ years of SAP Basis technical administration experience.
- 3+ years of SAP asset module experience is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience with windows server, Linux, SQL server.
