Due to growth and succession planning, they are looking for a Deputy Head of Facultative to join the team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of the Facultative in managing and growing the facultative reinsurance portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making, foster strong relationships with clients and brokers, and drive the success of our facultative business.
Responsibilities
- Deputize Head of Facultative handles and retains large facultative accounts that generate significant income for the company
- A business producer develops new business by actively sourcing additional business from existing clients as well as through new clients to accelerate revenue growth
- Responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership to team members to secure new and maintain existing accounts
- As first point of contact for day-to-day communication with numerous and/or complex accounts follows up on correspondences and manages/maintains communications
- Develops and communicates an understanding of client businesses by conducting and analyzing client research, research on industry issues, preparing benchmarking studies, and creating a narrative to secure optimal facultative solutions for the clients
- Supports colleagues by managing day-to-day aspects of designated accounts and ensuing account management tasks including completing billing transactional work, generating and coordinating calendars and timelines, liaising between internal senior professionals and business accounts, and generally representing the business to ensure satisfaction, compliance, and allowing for colleagues to focus on growth efforts
- Manages account concerns or issues encountered and successfully addresses small and complex problems in a timely manner
- Collects insights and information on relationship satisfaction and reports results to senior management offering context and suggestions when needed to best ensure account satisfaction and retention
- Begins to build relationships with professional counterparts at client organizations
- Acquires a fluency in the Company's various service offerings and market trends to enrich work performed and develop sales capabilities
Requirements
- Degree in any discipline preferably (re)insurance related
- At least 10 years of broking or underwriting experience within the reinsurance industry
- Have a good understanding of the international reinsurance market
- Possess a strong network with reinsurers in the South East Asia Region
- Have a proven track record of managing existing books of business and assisting in acquiring new clients
- Good communication and written skills in English
- Meticulous and keen attention to details
- Highly motivated and a team player with good interpersonal skills while concurrently being able to work proactively and independently where required
- Positive attitude towards work and learning
