Daily Duties
· Daily supervision of the maintenance crew and repairs & maintenance
· Addressing students and residents' feedback on maintenance related matters
· Replace or repair faulty or worn parts of school property, procure and keep stock of new parts
· Organize and maintain inventory stock of spare parts for repairs
· Process payments to contractors for estate repairs & maintenance
· Carry out routine Planned Preventive and Corrective Maintenance daily, weekly and other periodic checks as required by service and operations with checklists update
· Regular maintenance and preparation of common areas, buildings, offices, guest apartments and hostels ensuring cleanliness, functionality and safety
· Asset tagging of new estate equipment records
· Coordinate logistics including security and kitchen operations
· Manage Student Helpers on Ad-hoc duties
· Assist Estate and Fire Safety Managers in fire-safety equipment matters and execution of fire-drills
· Perform light physical work (eg climbing the ladder to check on ceiling leaks, bending down to check on drainage pipes, doing estate walk-about and general maintenance)
Projects
· Support college renovations and construction projects
· Analyse and design the structural components (concrete, precast, steel)
· Check drawings and quantities required to ensure calculations are accurate for the project implementation
· Liaise and assist submission of all necessary permits, licenses to the relevant authorities for the project work
· Carry out on-site progress inspection to ensure projects meet the required quality standard and deadlines
· Ensure proper documentation of the projects such as correspondence, as-built drawings, timeline etc
· Monitor and prepare reports for delivered materials compliance with the project’s specification, codes of practices, BCA requirements & QA/QC policies
Pre-requisites
· Minimum ITE Higher Nitec or Diploma in Property & Facility Management
· Minimum 3 years Hands-on general maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical, gas, carpentry, etc in school with hostel facilities preferred
· Technical knowledge in Civil, Construction and Building Engineering or equivalent
· Bilingual in English and Chinese with effective communication skills and a passion to serve
· Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
· Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a natural inclination to problem-solve
· Able to work independently and/or with team members
· Willing to work beyond normal office hours due to work exigencies
