Senior Research Assistant

Singapore University Of Technology And Design

The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), a research institute at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, invites interested researchers to apply for the full-time or part-time position of a Senior Research Assistant to participate in the “Mapping Urban Belonging” research project.


About the Position

Candidates who have an interest in the human-built environment interaction are strongly encouraged to apply. In addition, experience of combining quantitative and qualitative social research skills with digital spatial analysis will be highly regarded. Competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and use of statistical software (such as R) is highly advantageous.


Candidates should hold a Masters degree in one of the following fields: urban planning, urban studies, geography, sociology, or in related fields of architecture, environmental psychology, and geospatial analysis.


The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to do the following:

  1. Support the research team in fieldwork and data analysis;
  2. Work closely with the Principal Investigator and research team in the qualitative and quantitative data analysis of interviews, surveys, and spatial data;
  3. Conduct and write literature review on thematic areas;
  4. Communicate and report research to internal and external collaborators;
  5. Work closely with the Principal Investigator to produce research reports, publications, conference papers, journal articles and other scholarly writing;
  6. Assist in project management and overall study administration (e.g. day-to-day management of project and budget management).

The selected candidate is expected to join the research project from no later than October 2024.


Remuneration will be internationally competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
