The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of risk and compliance within the company. This role involves developing and implementing robust risk management and compliance frameworks, working closely with the technology team to ensure that all technological solutions comply with regulatory standards, and liaising with regulatory bodies. The CRCO will play a critical role in safeguarding the company's operations, reputation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


Risk Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework that identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential risks to the company
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Oversee the implementation of risk management policies and procedures across the organization
  • Collaborate with the technology team to integrate risk management into all technological solutions and processes

Compliance Management

  • Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in all operational jurisdictions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues, and work with relevant departments to address and resolve them
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and effective communication and compliance reporting

Governance and Reporting

  • Provide regular reports to the CEO and Board of Directors on risk and compliance matters
  • Ensure effective governance practices are in place and adhered to across the organization
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits to ensure compliance and risk management practices are effective

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the risk and compliance team, providing guidance, training and support
  • Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization

Technology Integration

  • Work closely with the technology team to ensure all systems and processes comply with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the implementation of compliance and risk management tools and systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CRISC, CISA) preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management and compliance, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards in multiple jurisdictions
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies such as MAS, BNM, HKMA, and others preferred
  • Familiarity with the latest compliance and risk management tools and technologies
  • Strong background in financial crime compliance, including AML/CFT preferred
  • Experience in a tech-driven environment, with a good understanding of integrating compliance with technology solutions preferred
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
