Reporting to the Director of Catering, your job responsibilities include, but not limited to:-
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for securing maximum banquet and restaurant sales for the hotel.
- Accompany the Sales Managers (Rooms) during their sales calls to establish contacts and promote the Hotel’s banquet and restaurant facilities.
- Establish contact with corporate clients and travel agents to promote the Hotel’s banquet and dining facilities as well as long-term contracts for continuous business.
- Maintain and updates all accounts and bookings in Opera Sales & Catering System as well as existing clients’ database.
- Establish contracts with corporate accounts and travel agents for continuous business. Promote and nurture good relationships with key accounts of the hotel and other sources of potential business.
- Conduct sales calls with Room Sales Managers or telemarketing with at least 20 to 25 corporate accounts each week. Submit weekly sales call report to the Director of Catering.
- Promote the Hotel’s function rooms, dining facilities (including Min Jiang at Dempsey) and outside catering.
- Follow up on prospect and tentative bookings to close sales or confirm the bookings.
- Event orders are sent timely to relevant departments. Wedding event orders are sent at least 3 weeks before the event and Corporate event orders are sent at least 2 weeks before the event. Final event order is sent out 1 week before the event.
- Ensure that the hotel’s integrity is not prejudiced by any infringement pertaining to the following government statutory laws and regulations:
- Liquor laws
- MOE laws and regulations
- Fire laws
- Employment laws
- Custom & Excise department regulations
- Assist in coming up with marketing strategies to strengthen the hotel’s market position in targeted segments.
- Knowledgeable and well-informed with competitors’ activities.
- Keep abreast of new concepts internationally and recommends new concepts, themes, set up arrangements, etc.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the management.
Requirements:
- Minimum a Diploma level qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ exposure in Catering Sales. Those with hospitality experience would be an advantage
- Resourceful and able to work independently
- Collaborative and good team player
