As a Reinsurance Intermediary, we structure and place Insurance/Reinsurance programs for Global Clients – Treaty & Facultative Portfolios with clientele in ASEAN and Asian Markets. We have a dedicated team of Specialists to handle the complete range of reinsurance services for Life & Non-Life.
We are now looking for a full-time candidate to join our Reinsurance team:
Reinsurance Expertise and Technical Advice
- Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to understand the terms and conditions.
- Review and analyze portfolio statistics in synch with reinsurance contracts.
- Fact-find and provide insurers with independent advice on designing and placing reinsurance programs.
Research & Market Intelligence
- Research & identify potential new clients and partners within the Life (Re)insurance industry.
- Gather and monitor industry data to provide trends and opportunities for both insurers and reinsurers.
- Understand how a reinsurer operates and makes decisions on a given risk.
Cross-border Access for Reinsurance Solutions/Capacities
- Access various cross-border reinsurance markets, writing various lines of business and various territories.
- Develop an understanding of their appetite and philosophy.
- Ensure that they are rated markets and registered in their respective jurisdictions.
Risk Assessment & Strategy
- Evaluate proposals referred to by Cedants and refer them to reinsurers, keeping in mind reinsurers' appetite & triage criteria.
- Assist in determining the appropriate reinsurance coverage levels.
- Develop strategies to ensure portfolio integrity, maintenance of Loss Ratios
Negotiation
- Negotiate terms and conditions on behalf of the insurance company with the reinsurer.
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment.
- Close deals ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships are established.
Client and Product Management
- Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective and existing clients.
- Understand client’s needs and challenges to tailor solutions.
- Ideate and effectively communicate new products and value propositions to clients.
Contracts, Compliance, and Regulations
- Ensuring Contract Guidelines are adequately met, and both parties have clarity on the terms and conditions
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory standards.
Communication and Networking
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, finance, and claims, to facilitate reinsurance processes.
- Communicate with reinsurers to address inquiries and resolve issues.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and gatherings to build relationships and generate new leads.
Qualification:
- Master’s degree holder, MBA preferred
- Insurance (FIII, FLMI, CII) Qualification desired
- Actuarial Qualification is an added advantage
Requirements:
- 10 years experience in Life Reinsurance Broking/Underwriting
- Independent, good communication skills and pleasant personality
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and a good working attitude
- Analytical, meticulous, able to multi-task, and a team player
- Written & verbal proficiency in another major Asian language is an added advantage
- Maintain cordial relationships with insurers, reinsurers, regulators, and brokers from Asia
- Ability to perform in a multicultural environment, willingness to travel, high emotional intelligence, energetic and hardworking individual
