Job Purpose:
As part of MOLAO technical team, the person is supposed to
• contribute to new business development
• project execution,
• operation support activities
• develop relationships with clients/partners
• support technical and marine operation
• support internal approval process
in the Energy, Decarbonisation, and Offshore business, (existing and new areas)
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MOLAO technical team aims following projects/ systems:-
• LNG FSRU (Floating Storage Regasificaiton Unit) projects for new building as well as conversion
• LNG FSU (Floating Storage Unit) projects for conversion
• New Energy Section projects such as LCO2 carrier, Ammonia carrier, LH2 carrier
• Onboard Carbon Capture System including CCUS
• Fuel Cell application system
• Etc. (including R&D)
In order to achieve above projects/ systems, potential candidate for this role include and are not limited to: -
• To support the MOLAO team locally and MOL global project team (worldwide) with technical and financial response to business opportunities.
• To support establishing strategies for projects
• To support administering project and operation budgets
• To support internal approval process in Tokyo HQ and liaise with Technical and Commercial Teams
• To support project management and execution such as plan approval, procurement, technical evaluation on proposal, site supervision as well as commissioning
• To support managing site office such as scheduling, manpower distribution as well as decision making
• To support controlling sub-contractors in terms of design, production and ensuring quality
• To assess technical and operational feasibility of the potential project or specific function in a project in front end engineering stage, attending potential site survey for new projects.
• To support leader in discussion of environmental and safety scopes with the clients and local authorities
• To support with the evaluation of proposals of EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and service providers from technical, operational and commercial point of view
• To assist with the development of operational concept by liaising with O&M providers
• To support the development of technical proposal in response to tenders and presentation and follow up activities
• To prepare marketing materials including presentations and input to tenders
• To develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients, partners, industry players and key internal clients
• To support high level technical and operational analysis of potential opportunities
• To interact and support the Commercial and Technical teams in head office and subsidiaries
• To represent the Company at Commercial and Technical Seminars and Conferences and actively participate in Committees
•To travel worldwide in support of business development and project execution opportunities
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor degree at least from a top-tier university
• More than 8 years of experience in marine technical related business (especially experienced in design, scheduling, managing, and commissioning)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-starter

• Good health condition allowing worldwide travelling
• Good cultural awareness and able to adapt own style accordingly with colleagues and customers
• Microsoft Software utilization
• Good email/phone/F2F dialogue communication

• Good at overcoming problems/issues in a practical way

• Full spectrum knowledge on new building and conversion (for any specialty, it to be separately addressed in applicant’s CV)
• Sense of managing as ship owner
• LNG related knowledge/experience as mandatory
• Interface knowledge/experience between Vessel and onshore infrastructure such as Jetty/Terminal
• Various safety/risk workshop participation experience as main PIC

• Work experience with/in classifications, flag states and shipyards
• LNGC and/or FSRU operation experiences (including commissioning)
• Work experience as Ship officer or engineer’s and on-board experiences
• Work experiences with/as ship manager
