Job Description:
- Manage a team of quantity surveyors (team of 8 QS) for direct subcontracted works.
- Prepare RFQs (Requests for Quotations) and manage the quotation process.
- Draft and review sub-contractual correspondence and contract documents for subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Manage main contracts and ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions.
- Prepare, monitor, coordinate, and follow up on contractual claims, maintaining subject files.
- Liaise with subcontractors for clarification and negotiation processes.
- Coordinate with design, legal, and construction teams, reporting project progress to the Project Director and Project Managers.
- Provide strategic inputs to resolve complex contractual issues.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders involved in the contracts management process.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for efficient contract administration.
- Conduct regular contract audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve issues proactively.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legal requirements, and regulations related to contracts and construction practices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in contracts management within the construction industry, particularly in diaphragm wall/foundation projects.
- Strong understanding of contract law and construction contracts.
- Thorough knowledge of Singapore public contracts.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to analyse complex issues, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions.
