Job Purpose

Candidate plays a dual role of being the lead business analyst and project manager, responsible for smooth and timely delivery of business initiatives and on-going change requests for Finance stakeholders operating in the domain areas of Product Control, Business Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform data profiling, understand, and analyse business needs, mutual interdependencies, risks, and benefits to advise and collaborate with business users and technology colleagues to arrive at the optimal solution and design that satisfies business needs and timelines.
  • Define functional/business requirements and collaborate with finance stakeholders to ensure that all user requirements are holistically captured in the product backlog.
  • Explain business requirements to data engineers, provide continual support during product development, formulate test strategy, execute testing, perform live verification and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Plan, manage resources, track progress, agree priorities with stakeholders, responsible for end-to-end direction and cross-hub collaboration with the end goal of delivering strategic solutions that address business gaps and requirements in sustainable and timely manner.
  • Provide on-going user support, incident management and change management when products/solutions are business live.

Responsibilities

  • Gather business requirements from Finance users, perform in-depth requirement analysis, prepare project documentation, identify solutions, articulate the requirements to technology counterparts, review the proposed system design and specifications and ensure that all the requirements are met.
  • Carry out detailed and comprehensive data profiling and analysis of different business/what-ifs/exceptional scenarios when crafting the overall business process flows and systems design.
  • Co-ordinate, prioritize and collaborate with different stakeholders, within and outside Group Finance, to manage the book of work and deliverables for MIS Hub.
  • Understand the end-to-end systems/dataflows in the bank, obtain a good understanding of what is the role and scope of all Finance systems and Finance Platform hubs, and apply the knowledge to the requirements of the initiative/ask in MIS Hub.
  • Adopt and abide by AGILE methodology and practices. Maintain proper product backlog, prepare high quality user stories, perform sprint planning/grooming/user testing, attend stand-ups etc.
  • Present new user requirements and systems/architecture design at data/design councils to ensure standardization and conformity to Finance Platform roadmap.
  • Formulate user acceptance testing (UAT) strategy according to the initiative/scope of change before executing testing/live verification.
  • Document and continuously update business/systems architecture, business processes, data flows etc.
  • Transit the managed project into BAU mode by working with BAU team closely and transferring of knowledge to the BAU team
  • Adept at juggling between tight timelines, limited resources, and multiple deliverables. Able to anticipate needs and problems to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects and initiatives
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Working Relationship

  • Close collaboration with diverse set of stakeholders, including project managers, business counterparts, application owners, technology partners, and Finance users across countries.
  • Ability to communicate with Technology team with clear and precise requirements and must be comfortable with Technology terminology.
  • Ability to balance relationship vs outcome in driving projects, and having experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds is a plus.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering-related field.
  • Experience in Project rollouts and Change management in the finance and banking industry.
  • Experience with financial and/or MIS systems in banking industry, familiar with banking products.
  • Familiar with financial accounting and MIS reporting principles, customer profitability analysis, product profitability analysis, etc. Having prior hands-on experience would be an advantage.
  • Able to navigate different applications and leverage on basic IT tools to query and extract results for analysis. Able to design and maintain configurations for applications to generate correct business results.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and Technology team.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in financial services industry.
  • Quick learner, with positive attitude towards initiating and making change happen.
  • Strong communication skills required, be articulate, and pro-active in engaging stakeholders.
  • Delivery focused and results oriented.
  • Attention to details and highly organized, and able to work under pressure in a time-critical environment.
  • Ability to work with complexity and ambiguity and use it to their advantage.
  • Strong data analysis skills, must be comfortable to work with data and the ability to join the missing links using data.
  • Good knowledge of banking products, financial accounting, MIS reporting, and finance processes.
  • Good knowledge of system design principles, comfortable working with huge amounts of data.
  • Strong presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Able to prepare user requirements documentation, functional specification documentation, test cases, and coordinate UAT.
  • Conversant in MS Excel and MS Access. Having SQL skills will be an advantage.
  • Possess conceptual knowledge and experienced in practical application of Agile methodology.
  • Extensive experience working with Technology team.
