Our client is a dynamic organization in the retail and e-commerce sector, specifically within the cosmetics and personal care industry. They are seeking a talented Senior Accountant to oversee their financial management and reporting. This role is crucial to maintaining financial integrity and supporting the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management:
- Post transactions in SAP for various financial activities, including bank deposits, loans, capital injections, and expenses.
- Arrange non-trade payments such as rent, insurance premiums, and loan interest.
- Manage asset, vendor, customer, and bank codes in SAP, and oversee finance-related agreements.
- Monitor and manage fixed assets, including reclassifying construction-in-progress and handling approvals for asset additions, disposals, or write-offs.
- Execute month-end closing procedures, including account clearing, accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly management reports, declarations, and surveys.
- Oversee and address discrepancies, and manage vendor interactions for credit/debit notes.
- Handle GST postings, payments, and currency adjustments.
- Prepare trade payments, verify and post freight charges, and manage incentive rebates for watches.
- Perform return-to-vendor processes and manage customer refunds/exchanges.
- Retail Finance Operations:
- Lead the retail finance function, ensuring efficient operations and compliance.
- Coach and develop the retail finance team, ensuring accurate financial data and timely journal postings.
- Reconcile receipts against AR, manage stock transfers, sales updates, and capital changes.
- Ensure a smooth month-end closing and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and compliance.
Managerial Duties:
- Oversee, coach, and develop the retail finance team, ensuring duty coverage.
- Step in to perform team duties when necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Accounting and Finance/ACCA or equivalent.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive, with a strong commitment to meeting reporting deadlines.
- Strong numerical skills and a sense of urgency.
- Familiar with accounting standards in Singapore and industry practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in SAP, MS Excel, and Word.
