About Our Client
Our client is a large Asian conglomerate headquartered in Singapore. They manage a group of companies in various resource-based industries, and are looking for a Legal Counsel with a focus on Merger and Acquisitions (M&A).
Job Description
- This role reports to the Head of Legal.
- Provide legal counsel on issues affecting the company and its subsidiaries across various jurisdictions.
- Act as a legal advisor to company's management and business groups on a wide range of corporate legal matters, including M&A.
- Manage legal aspects of company's business operations, including contracts, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Partner with company's business units to deliver strategic legal advice and support on projects and initiatives.
- Familiarity of corporate secretarial matters and procedures.
- Oversee external legal counsel and manage legal expenditures.
- Preparing and delivering training/updates on key legal topics, policies and procedures.
- Developing and implementing processes to consistently analyse and mitigate legal risk whilst improving efficiency and consistency in contracting.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 10 years post qualification experience honed in both law firms and in-house environments in multinational corporation (MNC) would be an advantage.
- Prior experience in M&A transactions is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to orchestrate diverse legal projects, blending commercial/corporate work with strategic guidance for business initiatives.
- Skilled at seamlessly navigate between high-level strategies and operational details, keeping a keen eye on commercial priorities and business goals.
- No prior industry knowledge needed, just a hunger to grasp the fundamentals of their dynamic businesses.
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate seamlessly within our international team. Shine individually while fostering a spirit of teamwork.
