Responsibilities
- System Management: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and computer systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance. Respond to alerts and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Security: Maintain system security by implementing and managing security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability. Perform regular backups and test restore procedures.
- User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues and resolving problems efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Upgrades and Patches: Plan and implement system upgrades, patches, and updates to ensure systems are current and secure.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements. Optimize system configurations for enhanced performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the best value and service quality for the organization.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and server management.
- Experience with network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) and related technologies is a plus/
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and services preferred
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
