Finance Manager

Reporting to the CEO, this is a hybrid role of controllership and FP&A

Responsibilities:

1) Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with accounting standards (eg: SFRS)
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making by management.

2) Financial Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, consolidation, payroll and ESOP.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure operational needs are met while optimizing financial resources.
  • Implement and monitor financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

3) Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate tax filings and payments.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks that could impact the company’s financial performance or reputation.
  • Manage external auditors and be responsible for the annual audit process.
  • Handle all corporate secretary matters and manage the board of directors and shareholders
  • Prepare board meeting materials and take minutes
  • Handle all legal matters including contract reviews and fundraising/restructuring matters

4) FP&A:

  • In charge of FP&A function in management reporting, financial planning, business partnering and continuous process improvement, reporting to board

5) Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency within the finance function.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure financial goals align with overall business objectives.

6) Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to management and department heads, contributing to the development of business plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate financial performance against strategic objectives and benchmarks, recommending improvements or adjustments as necessary and commercial contracts review.
  • Support fundraising, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, financial due diligence.

7) Client account management:

  • Manage dedicated finance team to handle client’s account
  • Support in product development of client’s system implementation or improvement.

Any other ad hoc tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, CPA/CA qualified.
  • Excellent knowledge of SFRS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel.
  • At least 8 years of accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in audit would be a plus.
  • Independent and resourceful to fit into dynamic startup environment.
  • Strong team worker.
  • Keen eye for detail and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with ERP system, familiarity with Xero is added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Able to start immediately or on a short notice would be an advantage
