Position Overview:

Robotic & Digital Lead will play a pivotal role in the introduction and advancement of Robotic and Digital Solutions in the Orthopaedic Business of Johnson & Johnson MedTech across the Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

This position demands a strategic thinker with strong execution capability, responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle from launch to market success of Robotic and Digital solutions across Knee, Hip, Trauma and Spine surgery. This will include the market launch and expansion of solutions such as VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solutions (RAS), VELYS Hip Navigation (VHN), ORTOMA, VELYS Spine and Patient Path among others.

The position will report into the Head of Orthopaedics for SEA and will be part of the SEA Orthopaedics Leadership Team. This role will require strong collaboration with SEA cross-functional stakeholders as well as strong engagement with the Global and APAC Robotic and Digital teams.


Key responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Plan Development and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic marketing plan utilizing the Launch Excellence Framework. Collaborate closely with global and regional marketing teams to ensure alignment with global strategy while adapting to local market dynamics and opportunities.
  • Work with SEA country teams to build 2–3-year sales pipeline for digital and robotic solutions. Pressure-test the financial viability of deal models in order to ensure that the commercial approach is GP accretive to the SEA Orthopaedic business.
  • Drive awareness, differentiation, and adoption of robotic and digital solutions through Omni-Channel approach and help advance pipeline leads to deal closure.
  • Work closely with country and Southeast Asia Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain teams to ensure SEA countries gain early access to technology and prioritized supply allocation.

Surgeon Training Plan Development and Execution:

  • Partner with regional Professional Education team to develop curriculum, workshops, and certifications tailored to meet the needs of surgeons in Southeast Asia.
  • Partner with country teams to execute surgeon training programs that ensure proficiency on our digital and robotic solutions in the SEA region.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and adjust programs as needed to optimize surgeon engagement and competence.

Sales Training Plan Development and Execution:

  • Collaborate with regional Commercial Education team to create and implement comprehensive sales training programs designed to equip the sales force with the knowledge, tools, and skills required to effectively promote our digital and robotic solutions.
  • Focus on elevating capital selling skills within the SEA Orthopaedic Sales Team.
  • Identify and train Subject Matter Experts (SME) in each country to ensure that there is a high level of competence in product and procedure knowledge in each SEA market.
  • Track sales performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure achievement of sales targets.



Qualifications - External

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, product management, or business development within the medical device industry, preferably in Orthopaedics or Digital Surgery. Capital selling experience will be viewed favourably.
  • Proven track record in launching and commercializing medical devices or digital solutions in the MedTech industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in other languages spoken in Southeast Asia is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Southeast Asia and internationally as required.
