Hydroinformatics Institute (H2i) is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven professional Product Owner to join a growing team committed to developing the next generation of software solutions in the water domain. The software has advanced simulation and analytics components with geospatial processing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for software products, translating requirements gathered in sessions with clients and internal users into the product backlog, being, the interface between clients and software development organization.

We specialize in Cloud-enabled computing services for Big Water Data. We develop, manage and execute projects across the hydrological cycle.
Working across the fields of hydrodynamic modelling, water quality modelling and operational management systems, we bring together specialists from academia and other research organizations to translate scientific developments from the research lab into the real world.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into software/product requirements.
- Defining the vision for software/products and maintaining a cohesive vision throughout the process.
- Work together with a team of scientific computing, water scientists and software engineers to develop software solutions according to client requirements.
- Creating product road maps.
- Managing the product backlog and prioritizing tasks based on requirements and priorities anticipated by the clients and/or internal user’s requirements.
- Conduct software testing and demonstrations to clients.
- Define,together with clients, user acceptance testing criteria and guide the clients in user acceptance testing process.
- Overseeing of product development including monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
- Participating in sprints planning, sprints stand ups and sprints retrospectives.
- Communicate with software development team and end-users to deliver updates and status reports.
- Mentor the software development team in water domain aspects.
Requirements
- Has a bachelor's degree or master's degree in relevant fields (e.g., Environmental/Civil engineering, Water resources management, Numerical modelling, Information Technology).
- Has proven experience in the role of Product Owner.
- Has proven experience with agile methodologies, especially in SCRUM
- Has experience in working with urban flood/hydraulics modelling suite software packages such as TuFLOW, MIKE, SOBEK, HEC-RAS, 3Di.
- Has experience with QGIS and Python on a user perspective.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Experience working in Singapore is preferred.
