As a key team member, you will strategically define project scopes and enhance public sector capabilities by developing new systems and integrating technologies like GitHub, AWS, React Native, MongoDB, and Stripe. Your role empowers you to drive innovative projects in critical sectors such as transportation, education, and healthcare, emphasising agility and effective solutions across diverse domains while fostering governmental innovation.
Responsibilities:
● Build prototypes to demonstrate technological opportunities
● Design system architectures
● Write production quality code
● Manage deployments to cloud infrastructure
● Because our team focuses on pushing new initiatives, you will also have to:
● Identify potential projects that improve the public good
● Design novel systems that work around bureaucratic constraints
● Advocate and explain these technical ideas to other government agencies
For Senior Software Engineers, you are expected to:
● Establish best practices in developer operations, mentor engineers, and contribute to recruitment efforts
Requirements:
At least 3 years of proficiency in JavaScript and Python for backend development
At least 3 years of experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS), open source software, and commodity hardware
Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub
Good knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React Native
Competence in database management systems like MongoDB
Understanding of payment processing systems like Stripe
Demonstrated ability to build softwares
Capability to write code to solve abstract programming problems, emphasising clear thinking, debugging skills, and understanding approach limitations
Proficiency in communicating and reasoning to facilitate collaborative problem-solving
