Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the Clinical Laboratory sections and functions.
- Maintain the laboratory safety standards and oversee the quality assurance activities, and ensure the laboratory remains in compliance with applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies (MOH & CAP).
- Manage periodic internal, external, regulatory and accreditation audits (MOH, CAP, etc.)
- Manage the development and implementation of all laboratory processes, workflow and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures across all laboratory functions.
- Lead the validation, evaluation and implementation of new laboratory test methodologies.
- Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal instruments performance.
- Ensure the adoption of lean concept across all laboratory functions to achieve operational and cost efficiencies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Pre-requisites:
- BSc in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ of clinical laboratory experience and 5 years supervisory experience
- Ability to organise, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective matter
- Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in clinical laboratory work
- Knowledge of local regulations, standards, guidelines and requirements of a clinical reference laboratory
- Analytical thinking and good communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change, service orientated and customer focused
