The Role:
Work under the direction of the [Head of Transaction Structuring] for the purpose of managing a team of Analysts and [Senior Analysts/AVPs]. The role will be multifaceted, including participation on Deal Teams for large/complex transactions, management of team projects, and coaching of less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deal Activity:
- Lead and coordinate analysis for large transactions/projects, effectively utilising other team resources to deliver outputs that drive informed decision making.
- Influence the economic outcome and structure of large/complex transactions through an expert knowledge of Avolon’s commercial levers and Business Plan Hurdles
- Be a role model for pro-active, collaborative and insightful Deal Team participation that drives the best commercial outcome for Avolon
· Peer Review and Coaching:
- Perform peer reviews to ensure accurate, insightful, and consistent output from the team.
- Be a primary coach of Transaction Structuring Analysts, helping to develop the next generation’s ability to deliver insightful and value-add Deal Team contributions.
- Build capability and confidence throughout the team through active listening and coaching.
· Customer Service:
- Assist the [Head of Transaction Structuring] in ensuring consistently high levels of service are delivered to our internal customers
- Maintain close proximity to the broader commercial activity across the business and what this translates to in terms of near-term team priorities.
- Actively listen to our internal customers to ensure we maintain awareness of their needs and how best to serve those needs, actioning any feedback as required.
· Workflow Coordination:
- In collaboration with [Head of Transaction Structuring], coordinate strategy and processes for the various Transaction Structuring disciplines and deal types.
- Assist in the allocation deals and projects to ensure business requirements and service levels to internal customers are met efficiently and sustainably.
- Share in the leading of team meetings and maintenance of team activity trackers
· Talent Development:
- Lead the integration and development of new team members.
- Support team growth by planning and coordinating regular team learning and knowledge sharing workshops.
· Project Management:
- Planning and scoping of team projects to introduce/improve models, processes, policies etc.
- Role & responsibility delegation, ensuring clear ownership of tasks.
- Drive completion of projects by ensuring sufficient resource allocation and application of effort, in the face of competing priorities.
· Recruitment:
- Manage the recruitment of interns.
- Assist with the recruitment of new Transaction Structuring Analysts.

Skills & Experience:
· Minimum 5 years professional experience combined with an expertise of all areas of Transaction Structuring;
· Highly numerate and self-motivated. Strong quantitative, commercial or financial background;
· Keen attention to detail, but with the added ability to review the ‘big picture’ from a holistic commercial perspective and guide towards realistic and achievable solutions;
· Track record of delivering efficiencies for the team by implementing new policies and processes;
· Has successfully led a large project to completion;
· Ability to influence others through effective use of tailored communication based on an understanding of the audience;
· Displays optimism even when working under pressure and encourages colleagues to persevere;
· Reviews workload objectively and effectively delegates work;
· Capable and willing to challenge stakeholders sensitively and effectively when required in order to protect the team from excessive workload, while at the same time ensuring business continuity;
