Transaction Structuring Analyst

The Role:

Reporting to the VP Transaction Structuring, this role will primarily research, evaluate and develop analysis as a key partner in the execution of deals with the Origination, Capital Markets & Trading and OEM Teams.


Key Responsibilities:

· Deal Activity:

- Full and pro-active participation in deal teams for transactions of all types (Sale & Leaseback, Placement, Remarketing, Restructuring, Trading, OEM);

- Recognise key elements from modelling results, with ability to interpret, evaluate, and effectively communicate;

- Evaluate the accounting and profit/loss impact of proposed deals and provide insightful guidance on same;

- Understand all aircraft maintenance and technical aspects of a deal which have an economic impact;

- Add value by providing advice on optimal deal structuring through combining a knowledge of assets and deal economics;

- Ensure familiarity with the corporate business plan and structure deals to meet business plan hurdles;

- Input into Approval Committee papers for deal approval.

· Modelling:

- Transaction Modelling and Analysis - calculate transaction yield returns, cashflows, and pro-forma financial statements;

- Model Development - Build long term tools/models that will increase efficiency and contribute to the success of the organisation.


The Person:

You will be focused, analytical and resourceful as well as being an excellent communicator and relationship builder. You will build robust solutions through gathering data and obtaining feedback and will possess an ability to operate in a highly pressurised environment. You will be able to articulate complex concepts and influence others through compelling arguments and rationales. You will engender trust amongst stakeholders by delivering accurate and reliable outputs. You will be an active participant in your team and the broader organisation and will proactively drive coordination and collaboration to achieve task delivery.


Skills & Experience:

· Previous experience in modelling within financial services, aircraft leasing, or science & technology;

· Quantitative honours degree (2.1 or higher);

· Highly numerate and self-motivated;

· Strong quantitative, commercial or financial background;

· Keen attention to detail, but with the added ability to review the ‘big picture’ from a commercial perspective;

· Excellent knowledge of, and advanced modelling proficiency in, Microsoft Excel;

· Self-motivated and keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;

· Ability to build relationships across all levels of the business and with external contacts;

· Insightful communication, presentation, and influencing skills;

· Strong organisational, multi-tasking and prioritisation skills;

· Capable of working across time zones, to tight deadlines and under own initiative.
