Job Description
The Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM) is seeking to recruit a research fellow in the fabrication and characterization of light-emitting devices based on twisted monolayer semiconductors realized with van der Waals architectures. The job responsibilities include:
- Fabrication of heterostructures and devices
- Characterization of devices using low temperature optical and device characterization
- Efficiently working in a team of researchers aiming to quickly drive all the projects forward
- Preparation of materials for publication (completing first drafts)
- Coaching of PhD students and interns
- Constantly expanding the expertise according to the requirements of the projects, including introduction of novel (non-existing) experimental techniques
- Undertaking research on topics without existing background literature
Job Requirements
- PhD in relevant discipline
- Two to three years of relevant working experience (including PhD studies)
- Excellent publication track record
- Performing complex experiments at highest level
- Handling multiple projects at the same time
- Scrupulous analytical skills
- Commitment to experimental work, including working irregular hours
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Motivation to work in a competitive environment
