Job Description for Thermal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Engineerto join our Advanced Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, simulating, developing, testing, and implementing cutting-edge thermal system concepts for our advanced battery thermal management projects. This role is crucial to ensure the seamless continuation of our ongoing projects and to drive innovation in our thermal system solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create and develop advanced thermal system concepts for battery thermal management applications.
• CFD Analysis: Perform detailed thermal and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis using CAE tools, with a preference for experience with ANSYS Fluent.
• Provide technical knowledge and leadership on thermal management topics. Guide the team in developing advanced thermal systems solutions.
• Identify and propose new and innovative ideas to meet customer thermal system requirements and enhance product performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal management solutions into overall product designs.
• Define test plans, design test setups, and analyze data to validate thermal performance of prototypes and systems.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for thermal analysis, test results, and project progress.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree or min. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a thermal engineering role with hands-on experience in CFD analysis.
• Proficiency in CFD analysis tools, especially ANSYS Fluent.
• Strong experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
• Proficiency in CAD modelling and design tools.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, including plastic injection molding, welding/brazing, metal stamping, extruding, thermoforming, plating, heat treating, and bonding.
• Experience in defining test plans, designing test setups, and analyzing experimental data.

Ideal to have

• Knowledge of thermal management solutions for high-performance applications.
• Experience in the battery or automotive industry is a plus.
