Key Duties
- The Mechanical Inspector shall be capable of performing the following duties on his own:
- Check installations of static equipment, coating, painting, piping etc
- Review installation to ensure compliance with construction drawings
- Ensure installation has adequate space with operation and maintenance considerations
- Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks etc and ensure safety devices are properly installed
- Active role in technical discussions with contractors and equipment suppliers
- Witness the commissioning of rotating and non-rotating equipment
- Proper record keeping of all inspection/witness activities carried out
- Perform inspection for defects clearing.
- Ensure defects are cleared before signing off
- Carry out other inspection/witness activities as assigned.
Requirements
- He should possess a diploma in Engineering from the polytechnics or other instituations. Other similar qualifications would be considered.
- He is preferred to have at least ten (10) years of inspection works in power plant, petrochemical plant or other heavy industries.
- Experience in handling EPC contractors and equipment suppliers will be an advantage.
- Experience with inspection of coating, painting, welding etc will be an advantage.
- Possession of other relevant qualifications and trainings would be favorable considered.
