Diagnostic Technician
Overview:
Carry out complex diagnosis, maintenance, inspection and repair work for BMW automobiles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carries out independently complex diagnosis and repair work for electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical vehicle systems;
- Supports the service advisor with customer consultation to discuss identified failures of required repair work;
- Supports and guides technicians and apprentices about technical modifications, innovation, measurements, test equipment and tools of BMW automobiles;
- Supports the Workshop foreman in safeguarding work quality and cleanliness and tidiness in the workshop;
- Submits suggestions for improvement to Service management in the areas of work, job performance, required equipment for the workplace, special tools and workshop equipment;
- Notifies the Service Advisor immediately of work interruptions as a result of additionally required work, complications, missing parts or missed deadlines;
- Uses checklists / repair instructions, tools and test equipment adhered to current BMW guidelines;
- Has co-responsibility for customer satisfaction by optimal technical solutions on customer vehicles;
- Handles tools, special tools work clothing etc. properly;
- Uses equipment cost effectively;
- Hands over dismantled, replacement or warranty parts to warranty department cleaned and labelled.
Job Requirements:
- Technical training (as automotive technician, industrial technician);
- Vocational training at an automotive dealership or at a similar facility;
- Experience with prestige vehicles;
- Team orientation and customer focused attitude;
- Ability to follow set process.
