Overview:
- The Assistant Director plays a crucial role in supporting the management of a captive insurance company. Responsibilities include overseeing annual insurance renewals, claims management and analytics, financial and regulatory reporting, administration, and conducting trainings on medico-legal claims.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate annual insurance and reinsurance renewal exercises promptly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather underwriting information for renewals.
- Review and evaluate new insurance programs as required.
- Monitor and ensure the financial and operational health of the insurance operations.
- Analyse claims data to identify trends and risk areas.
- Conduct actuarial and analytical studies on historical claims data with professional actuarial consultants.
- Categorize claims for efficient analysis and future reference.
- Participate in quarterly claims meetings with brokers and reinsurers to review and determine reserves.
- Liaise with stakeholders on claims-related matters.
- Plan and organize legal claims trainings for stakeholders.
- Identify and collaborate with training providers, manage content curation, billing, and administration.
- Ensure timely submission of financial and regulatory reports.
- Prepare and conduct Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and Board meetings.
- Conduct tenders for procurement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field.
- Proven experience in general insurance and finance.
- Strong number crunching and financial modelling skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as effective stakeholder management skills.
